lol and so it begins... if you ever played CS:CZ online then you will have assigned that cd key to a steam account. That being the case, you need to login to that account to use your CS:CZ licence fix: am expecting a post here from you anytime now - don't think you've got CS1.6 or CS:CZ if I remember correctly.

no you just need to log onto the old steam account on your new machine. pull up your steam interface and look in settings - you'll find it. NEXT!

nice messenger address moleman - you beast i'll play anything ... quite happy to have retro 1.6 nights with rio et al (and there is much more variety there at the moment) and we can play source with the ghosts... i'm up to 10gigs of valve on my hard drive and i reckon with all those 1.6 maps I'll hit 12 ish. it's alot but not really .. i don't think we're being totally fair with source ... it does seem that 10pm friday week ago was a bad time what with the updates. after a couple of tweaks it was smooth as usual but there were only 4 of us by then.... but whatever if it means big happy turnouts let's 1.6 ... if the whingers don't turn up then, we will know the true story .... we're miserable old gits

yep logged in using old steam account all the games are there waiting to be reinstalled if i want to play them (never used them on this machine) am presently putting cs:cz back on just in case. THe only thing i dont have is all the maps, however i think i was crafty and saved the various zips on my backup drive and so just need to be reminded what we are to play etc and will install on demand.

oooh, i dunno really as i'm just looking to get teched up to start playing again this winter. i would like to know that if i do go for my BB through BT (which is not easy here, believe me) that i can play something with you lot, otherwise I'd be tempted to go for the local sat BB supplier. my questions is how backwards compatible could I be if i was starting from scratch i.e. NO previous versions of CS at all?

Hey Woody, I've been waiting so long to get you online that whatever happens, I will personally make sure you can play. I can send you map packs and I even have a spare fully-loaded (except HL2 and source) account with your name on it (ok its my name on it but you can have it). If you have XP Pro, I can even just take over your PC and set it all up for you from here (remote desktop)
