Hi guys Me, fix, JMax and Stix all think that whilst looking beautiful, is about as playable as a dead donkey. The reason why we havent been on is that it is in total jerk o vision after that update.. dont know what they have done, but short of going to 64 bit processors, dont know what to suggest. But for the sake of gaming could we go back to cs 1.6. ( I can't update my machine as have a rather expensive event coming up ) As 1. It works fine 2. It works fine 3. It doesnt have all the fab physics ... but to tell the truth i find myself wandering off and looking at reflections etc etc .. well i used too befor the update.. and finally it works fine! 4. We all know the maps. 5. It doesnt boost our ego's as we all are pretty much on the same level, this defo is not the case in source as some of our poor machines canna handle it we can try and play again of course, when we all up to date hardware wise. but for the next game can we go back to the version that works fine. I thankyou

And i am not getting bored of counter strike, it does just get a little frustrating because of all the things i said above.. I have just read your post nix and fully understand that you think the rot is setting in ... well the reason for the rot is because the majority of players dont have machines that can handle cs source,... and playing it is like having your nails drawn out ... no really .. and yes take on board what you say about people just disappearing... but ! it is rather annoying to take some one down.. but the shot that you were taking that in the old cs would have been liquid smooth, jerks around all over the place.. not fun.. me and fix did try for over a hour..... anyway I LOVE counter strike, and my gaming life is a little incomplete with out it so lets sort it out guys..

fair point - didn't realise that CS:S was causing so many problems. Grix seems fairly happy with it and he's got the worst pcs apart from JMAX who appears dead set not to upgrade anything ever Anyhow if it will bring people back into the fold we'll roll back to 1.6 or CS:CZ (which I thought was a killer upgrade which we didn't play nearly enough of). I was concerned at the time that not everyone was ready to make the switch. Those of us who want to continue playing CS:S can maybe hook up with the ghostwatch boys as they appear to be keen to have us visit which is nice (moleman - you gonna get a chat client so we can contact you outside of this board?) So, next question is: we gonna alienate anyone by rolling back to CS1.6 or CS:CZ? Am I right in assuming everyone has both these older games? Am asking because a whole bunch of you ignored my advice and went and bought HL2 in the shops so you didn't get the back catalog. Which game should we have as default. Please everyone vote one or other or all three so I can make decisions. Talk to me ppl.

i have cs, cs:cz and cs:s does that mean to play you guys i need to have about 3gb of hard drive taken up with all this stuff , will play whatever you want however cs:s is where its at personally, will we be playing cs:cz if so is that all i would need to install ?? or do i have to install cs and then upgrade with a million patches !!!?!!? i have msn messenger which i can be contacted on address is [email protected] if anyone wants to contact me you can with that

steam takes care of it all. Wait for everyone to answer before we decide what to go with. At home I have HL2, HL2 DM, CS, CS:CZ, CS:S, DoD Source, and vitrually every other steam game installed apart from blueshift which I haven't bothered to download yet and I still got over 100gigs spare. Quit yer whining moely

yah boo sucks to you, what do i do if i purchased the cd version of cs:cz can i just install that in what would have been my usual way, i tried to activate the cd through steam and it told me the cd key was invalid ??

if you played it before with your existing account it should be one of the allowed games. I simply turned it on by double clicking it and it downloaded the rest.. I take it that wasnt the case with you..

i activated it and played it on my old machine, on this new one i only have hl2 and css:s does that mean i cant use it without buying it again ??
