CS testers please...

Subject: CS testers please...

...well the bastards wouldn't refund my dud hard drive so had to buy more memory so if you attempt to connect to the ip given by www.globalcs.org port 27015 you should find an athlon 1600+ with 0.5Gb sitting at the end of a 320kbps up/down pipe. I think the canadian global server is approaching maybe getting ready to roll. Need testers please because although I've got the server running and I can connect to it from inside my firewall and it appears to connect to the WON server, I suspect there's a few hitches yet. I recommend half-life protocol to connect. I've tested using my WAN address with half-life protocol and it connects so don't see what's to do apart from leave it on all day tomorrow and ask you guys to try to connect. Don't worry - customisations will come. If you can connect, let me know your ping times please and whether its laggy at all or smooth smooth smooth as I hope. [ok I'll give you the ip its 24.202.239.238 but this could change so ping www.globalcs.org to keep track of it.]

Not sure that things are moving as fast as they ought to on your side. If I might butt in, if rex or stix have high bandwidth and some way of sharing their connection (rex is working on it - I'm sure he would appreciate any geeky help he can get) then if you all go round there you should be able to join my server along with grix. I've probably got another week of tinkering before I'm confident of hosting a night of carnage. The server will be up though so any of you who want to go sit in an internet cafe and test it will be dudes with me When are you getting your laptop mex? I think its time to stop worrying about what will be out in 3 months time - my laptop is almost two years old and it still kicks ass. Anyone who has a burning desire to help setup the server can have a shell account - am no longer running the cs server as root so we'd just need to make sure we're part of the same group. have fun tonight and start thinking about how you're all gonna join me and grix. Rex: you need to setup a Pentium 200 or something as a linux bastion host and then you'll be able to share you connection. Your usb modem will act as the external network card. as soon as I get it sorted, you're all admins so we can let the public into our games and then slap em around or turn them into llamas if they annoy us or are better than us
