Correct Dex. I'm just going to switch all the crap off in my machine and hope to Allah that it works. I do not have the matter or time to set up a linux firewall but if there are any geeks in glasgae interested in helping the Stix out, you are very welcome. Phix, i have a spare computer here for Friday night but don't think that I have a suitable hub as yet, although see below. Rex - you are also welcome to come round although see below Nix - will that hub that i bought yonks ago do . It is a NETGEAR Ethernet hub 8 port 10 base - t. Grix - got the partnership tax return back but not yours ? Stix Cheers anyway guys.

Hey Stix, I think Rex and Phix are playing from Rex's. The hub you have is fine. However, you will need to setup internet sharing or something first. I'm almost sure that Rex has a usb modem too so he has probably already solved the same problem so ask him to help you. If you play from yours and they play from Rex's then that might be best this time. looks like its gonna be a big turnout

i was experimenting with Tiny Personal Firewall when i did the Burner reload so if you switch off all functions from the task bar (as admin)there should be no prob. i like it much better than many firewalls (esp 5.1 release) so still use it on mine (but not during CS ... just in case!. if you've still got connection probs after that then we should look elsewhere. as for crappy machines.. i picked up the 5 carcasses left after dex took one working crappo .. the idea was to try out the linux firewall but i sense i've got a way to go you're welcome to pop down here with machine on fri but i'm not juggling any furniture this week

bloody hell stix - that will be a first, rex make sure you take video evidence of stix helping out, and doing his usual trick of sitting next door smoking and generally not being very usefull and then buggering off early as he has smoked too much
