Maplin are flogging a 550w dual fan ATX power supply at the moment for 29.99 (reduced from 50 quid)!

ABIT say that my mobo wont take the 9600XT and the shop i bought it from suggest getting a lower spec vga card or totally upgrading my system So I'm currently busy - maybe I'll just bin all my pcs in a fit of pique its SO unfair!!! anyone got a suggested spec to upgrade to for under $1000?

yeah problem is you are in canada and the prices are different, infiniti in glasgow can provide shit hot pcs from £400 upwards if you are not buying a monitor etc, gigabyte ga-700n pro2 m/b has an onboard nvidia nforce2 chipset supports SATA if u want, dual channel ddr memory all the bells and whistles including firewire usb2 ports and a 1gb lan socket for £85. memory 512mb for £71, you've got all the other bits just need a decent case, power supply and a processor - AMD Athlon 3200 XP Barton has a 400mhz bus for fast memory access. is that any help or am i just gloating that we have decent shops in glasgow
