Err, what does this mean, as found on your maps page?!
globalcs.net map downloads (for CSv1.5 or CSv1.5?)?!
It's academic really, excuse the pun, as .bsp files will run in any version ... the technicians at the Uni had kindly set up a machine for my students to demo their maps on last week ... with version 1.0!!

I have not updated to 1.6 yet and there seemed to be some discussion about some maps not running on some versions?
but thats cool if there is no problem running any of the maps

install it to the counter-strike directory which has the cstrike directory within it. its just a fancy zip file which unzips itself. it has a cstrike directory within it so you need to install it to the directory which has cstrike within it. al ist klar?
generally if in doubt when installing maps, unzip or install to a temporary directory and then copy across everything to where it should be.
so the ansewr to your original question was "neither"

hey jim, I made a map pack of all the maps on your site but when I loaded certain ones into cs1.6 they didn't work. I agree with you that all maps should work on all versions and so I think we must be missing some models or wads or sounds etc - maybe we need to revert to the original downloads that you got rather than just taking the bsp file?
I've learnt through painful experience that BSP files are not sufficient to install maps unless you've already got all the resources they use. If you want some help locating the missing resources or origninal downloads let me know.

hey Grix,
the upgrade to 1.6 is less an upgrade than an addition. Space permitting you add totally separate steam installation to each of your machines (you will want a separate account for each machine if you all want to play at once - I've played around quite a bit with this and may be able to save you a lot of frustration of the sort that rex is currently experiencing). Maybe a skype call or email me with your current state-of-affairs and I'll email you a plan of action.

I have two separate steam accounts
One machine has CS 1.5
One machine has Condition Zero
I now have a 3Gb limit on my ADSL and I am about to let Steam do whatever it wants...
is this sensible?
