check the cables inside - they may have come loose...
and as you have your case open you may as well give all those bits and bobs inside a nice spring clean - just get a magnet they pick up the dirt a charm and make life easy.
just sweep the inside a few times and everything should be tickety boo - no need to turn off the the computer while you are doing this - too many power cycles kills electronics and power supplies ya know
need any more top tips just ask

I tried it with a magnet but it seems to have made it worse. Maybe it wasn't powerful enough. Think I'll try it again with a stronger magnet.

yeah you probably missed some. You know its much better to steam clean it to get out all those none-metallic bits and peices although of course if your new magnet is super powerful....

I stuck it in the washing machine on delicates and it's come out spotless but still not fixed! Now it's making funny noises and there are sparks coming out of it.
