Subject: gigabit ethernet driver on server

hey, I think I've stuffed your server You need to delete 'velocityget.o' from /lib/modules/2.4.26/kernel/drivers/net/ and reboot If it won't boot properly you will need to use the slacware disc 1 to boot, then manually mount the root partition so you can delete the above file bofh

grix makes tecky mistakes too hey am thinking I should be back in Montreal friday night 99.9% sure now and so we can play early saturday morning if people are interested and I can fix my server. Grix: if I delete this file (using knoppix if necessary - which i have) will it definitely be back to working as it was? or might it need more work? in other words can we plan to play sat morning?

The only other change is in /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1.conf I filled in an ip and netmask for eth1 - you should delete these so it is like the sections for eth2 and eth3 that and deleting the file will return the server to the state before i fucked it up seems to be a problem with the driver I compiled - don't know whether its because i didn't compile it on your machine or whether its a bug in the driver
