... if you can ring them back and switch the X600SE for any X800 card you'll be an awful lot happier. I know it sounds like the Xs are all better than the 9s but in fact the 9800XT(or pro) would whip the pants off the X600SE. The 800 line is for gamers, the X300 line is for people who NEVER game and the X600 line is somewhere in between. It will play HL2 just fine but you've just spent all that money and very soon you're gonna be left out of the conversation again when we all get excited about HDR and the Lost Coast. I know its cruel to dump on your new machine but you've just posted this so its not too late to change it and it would be crueller not to tell you. In your terms stix you just bought a ferrari without the bucket seats and with those little thin tyres you get on ford fiestas having said all that if you really can't change it then you're right this beast will play HL2 and far cry absolutely no problem and you can always leapfrog the rest of us in a years time by upgrading the graphics. Am just on my crusade to explain to everyone that your VGA card is the most important part of your machine. I still owe you for doing my NZ stuff and I was gonna pay you in kind so maybe you can hit me with the upgrade price

Going to stick with what i have ordered as I phoned DELL and they confirmed that they do not do the X800. He did say that this card is 16 times faster than most and 32 faster than me, which must be fast. I like your analogy about the Ferrari but as you say i can put wider ones on later. At least we have the wheels stix

yeah totally mate. this machine is not gonna even compare with what you got now. sorry about dissing your baby I just thought I might be able to upgrade you card afterall. just to avoid any doubt: your new machine is gonna kick ass and you will be able to play lost coast and HL2 fps will be around 100 I expect.
