Subject: gaming and stuff

All the globalcs help stuff and board posting how to accessible from HELP I have added a TeamSpeak how to which is way better than the in built cs voice and Skype for broadcast verbal abuse - nice tip moleman GLOBAL CS now just opens montreal server status - just open it in a new tab if you want to monitor it. just to chip in over the source vs 1.6 argument - I am connecting 2 machines over a 256kb adsl and getting a ping on both of about 320. One machine is an AMD 1400 with an ATI video card kaiser sent me and the other is a 2GHz laptop with GeForce 4 and I find playing cs:source is absolutely fine and the new maps are most excellent. I have the worst ping of you all, so if anyone is gonna moan its gonna be me.

I have just connected to the CS:source server.. And And And And And And And And And And And And And And And And And And And And And And And And And And And It works absolutely superbly! The update that valve have recently done has sorted out the issues..... My aplogies to the Server bitch for having to dig all the old stuff out.. but we must have a game of Rio to celebrate the fact that everything is now working again

no problem. am still up for a retro game although I think you might find that the new levels (esp deltamill) will make you miss rio a lot less there's a bunch of levels we haven't played yet including one in a cowboy town which is very cool.

Just left my computer for over 5 hours while it was downloading HL2, when I came back to it, it had "finished" downloading and was "ready" to play. So I go to play and...1st thing that came up "updating game" Aaaaargh. Only another 20 steam minutes, ie: anything up to an hour or more!!! WHY IS STEAM SO FUCKING SHIT??

just might be able to play at the weekend!! Problem is the connection that used to be shared between four fairly light users now has about 8 including some heavy users so not sure if it will work. I'm looking at the router and every light on it is flashing like crazy!

to play HL2 offline?? After 6 hours + downloading, a test play online, after checking in the game properties that it was ready to play offline, I took my puter home, tried to play off line and was told not ready to play offline , only 84% of files downloaded!!! That's after twice being told that all files were downloaded! Seems that to play "offline" you have to be online!
