i seem to remeber nix saying you set up his phone to controll the music on his pc, how was it done? can it be done easly on ubuntu / andriod?

Subsonic music has an app for the PC and your phone that lets you do this. You need to setup the jukebox mode. Spotify let's you do this as well - play tracks on another Spotify instance on the same network using your phone Spotify. Spotify is easier than Subsonic jukebox mode.
