we thought that zombies may be able to survive by eating animals but even so would probably starve in about 3 months so our home would need a very large fridge, lots of storage for tins, weapons store and toosmallforzombiestocrawlup waste pipe. Also concealed roll down metal windo shutters are essential. Then it struck us that we needed to consider what was responsible for the zombification of the population. Any zombie proof home would need to protect the inhabitants from becoming zombies. Only then do you need to worry about how to survive the zombie hordes. Considering the sheer number of zombies it seems likely that the infection is airborne as well as being transferred through blood. So probably have to have one of those quarantine bubble wrap jobs and some kind of airlock. Sounds a bit pricey...

The best way to "kill" a zombie is by decapitation so surely lots of high speed rotating blades at strategic points like doorways. Also you could fashion yourself a gravity gun and stock up on circular saw blades.

Damn! will the trips to home depot ever stop? Obviously, I choose to live on a 2nd floor apartment: Daleks are so easy to avoid it seems silly not to take steps. I find the garlic on the porch lasts longer in winter although I do worry whether the aromatic compounds are sufficiently volatile so like everyone else, I back it up with crucifixes. I've still got an old copy of Dr Solomon's in case of werewolves. Need to get a cat...
