ok its long but from the first few pages it struck me that no fucking way are computers gonna take over shit while they are crippled with windows software. It didn't used to take me 20 seconds to open a directory in windows 3.1 so from where I'm sitting Moore's law is more than compensated for by Microsoft who appear to be fighting a valiant and immensely successful rear-guard action against any such "criticality" being acheived. i hate smart bastards who put forward reasoned arguments though .. they make me feel thick and for what?! i don't want to be hacked more easily than i already can ... that's my primary reason but also unless it's gonna extend my life by a significant amount i still can't see the advantage of such a regressive step.
