My thought for the day

Subject: My thought for the day
This is my two cents based on what I've seen on the news over the past 5 years. I don't want be accused of trolling so I'll put this as objectively, emotionally neutral and unprovocatively as I can...
...so it looks like democracy is the best possible thing and the hallmark of a civilised and free society everywhere in the world until you upset the jews. apparently the jewish bankers have a veto on democracy. you're free to vote for anyone you want as long as you don't upset the jews in which case you are a rogue state and all your people are terrorists.
(how am I doing?)
Hamas explicitly denies the right of Israel to exist and this takes the form of occasionally some poor desparate bastard blows themselves up in a shopping mall or bus.
Israel implicitly denies the right of the palestinians to exist and this takes the form of treating them like they are less than human and bulldozing their entire culture back into the stone age.
There are lots of fuckwits in the world with really fucking stupid ideas (like believing that another group of people should not exist or perhaps even worse) but they do not act on them because in general, people value their own skin and are unreasonably and unjustifiably optimistic in the face of crushing reality. This is a well documented human trait and is how most people manage to sanely deal with ravages of old age. The press and the world's politicians studiously avoid the question of "how bad does your life have to be before you strap explosives to yourself and detonate them to kill yourself and a bunch of other people you've never met before?" because this would show that israel has engineered its own problem. Hamas is in power because the Palestinians have no other way of expressing themselves. By refusing to deal with them, the rest of the world is denying the palestinians right to freedom of expression and self-determination and basically saying that they are not human for in our culture all mature humans have the right to vote and it is our (western) culture whose judgement I am questioning here.
Hamas does nothing worse than the Israelis. We've all seen the footage of Isreali soldiers mercilessly hunting down that father and child. This makes me so mad. The reason why our governments think suicide bombing is wrong and airstrikes are right is because airstrikes and bombs are the weapons of governments whereas suicide bombings are the last refuge of a people who are being crushed and wont just stay lying down.
Just to be clear, they are both wrong but now the palestinian government can't get a bank account. why do you suppose that is?
Ah ok am done - your turn

OOOPPPS, you forgot the golden rule:
ANYONE WHO QUESTIONS ISRAEL IS AN ANTI SEMITE
pps
and because the third rich tried to do it to the Jews that doesn't make it wrong for the Israelis to do it to the Palestinians

that looks like a pretty cool website

you didn't answer my point though - how come democracy is only the pinacle of human society until the palestinians vote for a party who explicitly states what the Israeli government also clearly believes: that each other do not have the right to exist?
and my reason for posting is that i found it particularly funny that the banks are openly confirming what those nutters who rave about a zionist conspiracy have always claimed: i.e. that as well as having undue influence over western governments, the
zionists control the banks
I think thats hilarious

Yup I think that Islam is a big threat. Anyone who believes that they have the right to impinge on other people's personal welfare and freedoms is a menace to society and so christians and muslims would both fall into this category of obviously scary groups.
If there is an anti-zionist conspiracy taking the form of biased BBC/CBC/AP news coverage of the Israeli-Palestinian "conflict" (am not sure it can really be called that when one side has tanks and nuclear bombs and the other side can't even get together the basics of a modern society) then I would love to hear it. It strikes me that the situation must be more complex than my rather black and white interpretation allows but I'm just not seeing it.
In my incisive socio-political analysis

I did label suicide bombers as fuckwits so am not being totally biased here

ah ok I got it. its the implication that ALL jewish people are behind what is going on in the middle east. ok that was trollish and unjustified and I apologise. However it raises an interesting point in that you don't here of moderate jewish people standing up to renounce what Israel is doing. Only of complaints of increasing anti-semetism around the world with a kind of "everyone hates us and we don't know why" tone to it. Moderate Muslims are realising they have to stand up and be counted or by their silence they implicitly condone what is done in the name of Islam. Surely moderate Jews need to do the same. Perhaps they are and biased news coverage is stopping us from hearing it?
