thought i would turn it off for a while to see if anyone bothered - in the interests of privacy - did it when i set up the secure web server at https://www.grixnix.com I can turn it on again if you want..?

If you browse the site using https://www.grixnix.com all the traffic between your computer and www.grixnix.com is encrypted using SSL - same as when you do internet banking (hopefully) Its completely pointless for www.grixnix.com as nobody cares whether anyone can read the traffic as none of the transmitted information is sensitive. But it shows you that anyone can set up a 'secure' server and maybe you really should read all that stuff about trustworthy certificates and maybe even take a look at the certificate as well...before clicking on 'OK'...
