Subject: BBC News rant
So for us expats for whom of course there is no place better than home, what could encapsulate all we hold dear better than the grand old BBC. I just got cable and I'm attempting to force myself to watch the fucking drivel which passes for tv these days but I inevitably get forced back to BBC News for lack of anything worth watching (but then I only have 600 channels). So, anyhow, I'm all snuggled up with aunty beeb getting myself updated on the Kurdish situation when <NEWSFLASH> its the airbus A380!!! "... oh sorry, that wasn't the A380......ah now that is the A380, look its really really big and luxurious..... look its turning.... " Oh My Fucking God! So advertising a new airplane whose only "revolutionary" aspect is that it is bigger, is more important than the repression of several hundred million people? There are dozens if not hundreds of revolutionary technologies just waiting for someone in the airline industry to implement them for the good of the environment and passengers alike and the BBC decides that making a bigger plane is revolutionary. Please! If you know ANYONE who is a journalist, slap them, hard. It doesn't matter if they themselves write this dross or not. If they have half a brain how come they can't rise to the top of their profession and do their job well instead of the ignorant imbeciles currently wasting those lofty positions? Now, slap them again (they don't have a great attention span).
When did the BBC become such a vacuous, bunch of bimbos? When did they start doing adverts? When did they decide to give up on news?
Why are all journalists morons? Why do the journalists who perhaps are not complete dolts insist on behaving as if they are? Why can these supposedly erudite word-smiths with huge vocabularies only ever talk in cliches and insist on mixing their metaphors almost exclusively in such a manner as to prove they do not understand what they themselves are saying?
What next? I fully expect to be sitting down to learn about the situation in Darfur and have it interupted by "<Newsflash> Coca Cola have changed the shape of their bottles!!" or "look! Ponies!!"
Time for the B ship my friends - its more than overdue

BBC news 24 is crap.
Dont watch it, you are better of listening to the today programme, or the world tonight on pod cast.

Aye, problem with 24 hour "rolling news" is that they have to constantly be padding with shite to fill up the time. Mostly this is irelavant shite and meaningless speculation. They spend more time bullshitting about what might or might not happen that what has actually happened
