Subject: FYI: time to reconsider ubuntu (8.04 is out)

I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 7.10 and I didn't even need the grix to help me get all the correct drivers installed. Ubuntu finds them for you and installs them with you so in fact its now easier to install Ubuntu than MS windows. Also, for anyone using something like a Dell Latitude D8xx like me, hardy heron works straight out of the box (I tried the Kubuntu alpha 2 but I suspect it applies to the gnome version too now) If you want to game its still easier to run windows but CSS will run in Wine and plays ok on my 8500GT (which is a pretty weak card)

Get it from www.ubuntulinux.com There is also xubuntu which has a lighter desktop for older computers aAs nix says you can play Counter-Strike Source on Ubuntu using Wine - works well for me. Not all games are supported though.
