Subject: BBC iplayer downloads - even from outside the UK

So wanna watch BBC iplayer TV anytime, anywhere? All of the following information is theory only and I would never condone anyone who did this... Watching From Abroad To watch from abroad you need to set your browser to use an open proxy located in the UK. Use Firefox and FoxyProxy so only iplayer URLs are proxied. Two methods for finding open proxies: 1. Easy - use a google search 2. Fun, semi-Illegal - use Nmap to scan for open proxies using this list of UK IP netblocks with a command like this:
nmap -v -PN -sS -p 3128 --script=HTTP_open_proxy.nse --randomize-hosts -iL GB_cidr.txt -oA uk-web-proxies
Downloading Get yourself some iPlayer downloaders: get_iplayer iPlayer Downloader BeebHack If you are outside the UK you need to tell the program to use a UK proxy. Warnings 1. Be sure to only use an open proxy for this and NOT your normal browsing - when using a proxy ALL your traffic can be seen by whoever runs the proxy - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED 2. Scanning large blocks of IPs is a very dubious activity and may get the attention of your ISP or other parties - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED AGAIN 3. Some people may not know they are running an open proxy and by doing this you are abusing their system - BE NICE

Question.. in iplayer.......When you run the script "get_iplayer --since=24" how do you view all the results, not just those from S to Z? Its pissing me off that I am limited to download programmes later in the alphabet. Have checked http://linuxcentre.net/getiplayer/documentation/ and nothing obvious, tried loads of the command variations and the same happens.. all results flash in front of the screen but can only view the end results...ie 587 matching programmes but only 432 to 587 available to view...anybody got any ideas?

exact command depends what terminal / OS you are using - you can just pipe it into a text file and then open it in a text editor - let me know what OS you are using and I can tell you the command eg on linux you should be able to use the folowing to create a file of listings called bbc_list: (notice use of backticks NOTquotes)
echo `get_iplayer --since=24` > bbc_list
