caros website hanging, I can't get logged in - ssh - time outs/proken pipe/ no memeory for bash - losts of errors, aws console shows cpu ussage running at 100% for last few days, I was able to log in a few days ago ( to reset the sql server to solve database connection problem but every time i clicked a link it hung again) any ideas?

Reboot it, update and upgrade. See if you can identify the process that is eating alll the cpu

yep did try that but same, now not even getting database error when connecting - just tries to connect - aws forum with same errors get "hardware error, you need to throw it away and start again"...........

well as it seems totally fubared and I have to start again I was thinkng of tring out nginx and simplecms not sure on difficulty level and am going to spend a few days doing some research bit if you have any comments to make please make them now...........

so I just had something similar if not the same hence why this website has been down: Got an email form Amazon: "We have important news about your account (AWS Account ID: 28965182759. EC2 has detected degradation of the underlying hardware hosting your Amazon EC2 instance (instance-ID: i-e8466193) in the us-east-1 region. Due to this degradation, your instance could already be unreachable. After 2016-10-05 15:00 UTC your instance, which has an EBS volume as the root device, will be stopped." I had to go into the AWS console and restart the instance. Also the IP had changed so I had to update the DNS record. Graeme

i did wonder, I've shut mine down and am now having a look at nginx and might get it going on localhost if I can find a decent tut. I have also been checking up on flat file cms's....
