Subject: If a HD costs $100 and tapes for a tape drive cost $90, why bother with tape drives?...

... which cost around $1000. Surely I'm better off buying a few removable hard-drives as a backup strategy - especially when HDs store around 80GB and the tapes that I'm looking at are all that or less and thats with compression. Just wanting to touch bass with the other geeks here and make sure I'm not missing something really crucial.
