bastards spoofed my mail server again.. i need a firewalll program that works!!! anyone have an idea of firewall hub thingy thats good, have abandon idea of transparent bridge!

Its not a firewall unless its implemented in hardware as two seperate NICs with something in between that filters each and every packet before passing it on. Software cannot do this and is therefore useless. Firewalls are cheap and easy to configure. The default config for D-Link is almost entirely invisible to the net. All you would need to do is setup proxy severs on the firewall for the services you need the WAN to see. Can't beleive you don't have a firewall. Really! Still can't believe you don't have a firewall - I wouldn't be without one for home use - not to mention business. Thing is though - how would a firewall help you here - don't know much about this sort of thing but it sounds like they're compromising your mail server - like I said - don't know what I'm talking about. You can use the off-the-shelf firewall/gateways to hide your IP address as well although some websites don't like it when you're browsing from somewhere that wont ping. In your case though I'd say that was a side-issue. Batten down the hatches!!! P.S. Have a look at D-Link 704p and upwards. You must have a gateway/router on your network - does it not contain a hardware firewall?

aye.. its not an open relay, made flipping sure of that, is there anyway you can stop people spoofing your mail server ? thats what the geezers said at onetell, also will be getting a hardware firewall as well, basically think i am open to a certain degree, no ones got in yet but as time goes by.....
