I've been updating the photo pages on my website, what's your professional opinon on the navigation? Wasn't sure wether to make the previous button on each photo go back to the thumbnail page, the previous photo in the sequence or just "back one" which is what I went for. Do you think I need another button to go direct to the relevant thumbnail page or is that making it more confusing than is necessary?

i would say have the three one for forward, for back and one back to the index page of the thumbnails so the user can get out of the pictures at there leisure, ...
but what do i know i am programmer and a very poor one at that ;-)

I would make the back button should go forware and the forward one back, the home button should take you a porn site, and maybee one to take you to the rangers web site.
