time commanders are looking for people
Lion Television [www.liontv.co.uk] ñ the production company behind programmes like Castaway, Paddington Green and over a hundred documentaries for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and digital channels ñ is looking teams of FOUR to take part in its new programme, Time Commanders, for BBC TWO, with presenter Eddie Mair [Radio 4].
Time Commanders is an historical interactive show, a game of strategy where you can enter a computer generated virtual world and take on, in battle, the greatest generals from the past in an attempt to overturn history, in a 21st century battlefield command centre.
Could you have defeated Napoleon at Waterloo, or have out manoeuvred Hannibal on the Alps?? If you think you could, this is your chance to pit your wits against some of the finest military brains in history.
THE TEAM
Your team will made up of FOUR people, each taking your own role in the command centre, ranging from superiors to subordinates. How you face your role is up to you, but faced with an aggressive army to defeat, you get the chance to test your friendships and find your role in the team.
You will be guided through the game by the presenter, to whom you can explain your strategies and tactics, and also discuss your fellow team-matesí tactical decisions.
EXPERTS
Two history experts will assist you, and provide important battle information to your team at the beginning of the show and also join you at the end of the battle to provide a post-mortem and explain what happened in the original battle.
You will also be given specialist information containing data on relevant soldiers and weaponry they have at their disposal and a chance to spy on your enemy.
Your team can then produce your battle plan and deploy your troops. You will have approximately an hour to battle in the fields of the past.
We are looking for interesting teams of four, [families, friends, work colleagues or club members], to face the challenge. [Minimum age 15]
You need no computer gaming, historical or military knowledge, only the ability to think strategically, and a team of FOUR lively personalities.
Filming will take half a day at BBC Television Centre in London
Filming will take place during the week beginning September 22, 2003
*The series will be broadcast weekly on BBC TWO from September 04 until Christmas*
