I'm back early from hiking in the Adirondacks as half way up the first hill on saturday my boots started to rub and by the time I got down they were bloody weeping sores so no more hillwalking for me until I'm healed and have paid a visit to MEC for some technical socks. Sorry to report no bears although there were lots of fat hairy americans - when bill says there are bears in north america does he mean creatures of the genus Ursus or merely backwoods gay guys with shotguns ala Deliverance? I suppose either way they're best avoided
