I put meego live image onto a usb stick so I could boot from and install it on my net book but now I can't format the usb stick back to fat32. I've tried it with windows and meego. Any suggestions?

get a new usb stick.

1. Insert usb into computer running linux and open Terminal 2. Type

dmesg

and right at the end look for the device ID of the usb stick. For example mine is sdb

3. Type

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdZ

replacing sdZ with your device id 4. Reformat disk with gui tool

well i havent had any more visits from the local constabulary on a sunday morning.... its all quiet now, and hopefully will remain so for the foreseeable future.. other news......we have sold our flat, have bought a house, and hopefully if all goes well we will be moving mid december... and before you ask, we were going to move anyway, we were really surprised how quickly things moved on the moving front, wasnt expecting to sell the flat so quicklly....
