gonna try a few tweaks but the server is backup much as before although it doesn't automagically restart when the CS server crashes as I couldn't work out how to do that just yet - grix did you make the runserver file?

as I obviously lost everything when my hard drive died. Anyone mention the word "backup" and I will take measures... Note: I will allocate admin rights on an entirely prejudicial basis - the more experience I think you have as an admin and/or the likelihood that you will be starting up the server and managing it for everyone else, the more likely I will give you unlimited powers - I am not gonna make everyone an admin as this makes for chaos and I am a well-known control freak. However there's no harm in sending me your WONID or player name - I can at least give everyone that does preferred status on the server should we ever trust the outside world again enough to go public.

The new server appears to be better than the last one probably cos i had some idea of what i was doing this time It automatically starts up in passworded mode and all the maps work so am looking forward to some mansion2 which we haven't played in fucking ages and which I never really appreciated (was testing last night and found lots of things which I never knew - sorry mex). Also, just for JMAX, I got rid of the stupid fucking amx voting system which everyone hated and so now we are gonna use the say vote <mapname> system and if you buggers don't use it then I'll just have to play all my favourite maps then I guess. Everyone who sends me their WONID will have the ability to start a map vote. There seems to be some confusion about voting for maps so let me explain it. When you see a mapvote start (announced in small yellow letters) then you can all vote for the map you want by pressing the "y" key and then saying "vote cs_rio" for instance and without the quotes. In order to change maps you need a certain percentage of the players to vote for it so you need to hit a popular choice.

I know its a monday night but we haven't played in a while and I'm going boarding tomorrow night. I'm also looking for suggestions for the mapcycle - we can always change to maps not in the cycle and so the ones to include are the ones which we aren't gonna get bored of. rio, aztec, india, italy, arab streets, havana, militia, winternights, predator, survivor, dust2 .... come to mind - some of jims small ones are good too (eg duneball, leeball3, superball2). will research some newbs for testing ... mexicali is quite good

I don't think I have any of the "ball" maps or mexicali - can someone send me those please? along with any wads or models or sounds that go with them? Also, we need to get JMAX our version of arab streets. Moleman: accidents do happen - players get buried or turned into llamas and who knows how that happens...

sorry, don't know what a WONDIS is, so can't tell you .. (see? never let girlies loose wiv technical stuff...) don't think i'll make it tonight, unless i can persuade my dad to play for a bit- you never know! else thurs, fri sat etc nights are good to go! same route in as always? or have i missed the point of this whole thread?
