The only real way to get good at CS is to get out there and kick 12 year old ass on the net ... it also helps to not drink two bottles of wine, as I know, or smoke an eighth of weed through a bong, as Nix knows, but you could try taking big bags of stimulants as that approach has been known to provide a certain level of assistance!

I am currently unlikely to be changing nappies on Thursday evening but will be getting my beauty sleep in on Friday evening due to getting married on Saturday afternoon ... yeah, yeah, I know it's fast work to have a baby two days after you get married, but what the heck, this is the fifteenth century - according to the Islamic calendar!

Nope, to get the DL installed it wants a CD key in a format which I don't have ... anyone got a spare!

So, unless I divert from nappy-shopping later today and go on a desparate hunt in places such as PC World, there's not much hope of me joining a CZ match tomorrow ...

Ok Dex, what did you do with 1.5? I kinda think that we need to get the map thing sorted before we all go over to 1.6. When I look at the steam counter-strike directory the only map I can see is Italy. I don't understand where the rest of the 1.6 maps are and therefore I don't understand how to load in the extra maps - anyone have any info? I think we can play CZ maps with 1.6 - am gonna look at that tonight. So far as I can tell, the people who don't have 1.6 just now are kaiser stix and that's it? Rex, if you can get Stix sorted with 1.6 then I will help Kaiser. Also, have you come up with a strategy and/or official list of map packs yet?

like on a reformatted harddrive, but it was on the harddrive before i reformatted it along with the key ;-) can i use the key from 1.6 for 1.5 ?? anyone got a link for it so that i can install it simply and easy

I think the easiest thing is if you go and buy the original CS and upgrade to 1.5 then go and download all the maps etc. Very very foolish to delete all your copies of CS 1.5 OK, so its lots of traditional maps tomorrow night then but it looks like 6 of us so that's good. We're playing 1.6 (Del) and we're playing just the standard maps (JMAX) but we haven't had a good set to in a while so I'm looking forward to it. JMAX, you might want to download the CZERO directory from some where in /usr/steam/ on the montreal server cos then I think we can try playing the CZ maps in CS1.6 - I will look more closely at this tonight although if you're around it might make it easier to test.
