....seriously considering upgrading my pc so I can turn everything up to max. At last, a game which really does make use of hardware T&L and shoves it in your face. At last, I can finally see the reason why I spend money on video cards and I have a good reason to go and buy more and better. The water in FarCry is fantastic, ripple-distorted reflections of palm trees all rendered in real time; smooth curving arches, terrain which looks real and isn't full of angles and even the trees are getting damn close to looking real too. On realistic, the game play is still a bit tame but its nice to know that if you ride into the middle of your enemies they will take you apart - stealth and cold-blooded murder are the key - superb!! One thing is not quite there though and I think its my setup - has anyone else found that the sea in FarCry is far too transparent and if so, how did you fix it please?

hmmm, well ok I guess I can't ignore such a satisfyingly grovelling apology Yeah, next time lets agree its off before we cancel. We waited around a bit, watched some B5, played some CZ against 3 stupid bots, went back to bed. BTW like the new color scheme - esp the lime green surrounding this as I type - nice! Its like each post is a real peice of cartridge paper! What is the time difference now? 7 hours - I notice its 6am on the board (and 1pm here). Is that like your GMT or is it the time on your watches?

it is awesome on detail... on max settings you can look into the grass and see moss - but unfortunately tis laggy ... there should be a level with no enemy for wandering around going wow without getting minced. how good must a machine be to play it at max i wonder.. ? the water is clear but come May in the gulf of thailand that's about right

yeah I know the water in hawaii is also incredibly clear but am pretty sure no water is so clear that you can see underwater topography at 500m plus is this how yours looks? Is this how the gulf of thailand looks? have I got them trying to fix something which isn't a bug?

fixed it - was the volumetric fogging - i have everything up to max and it looks unbelievable: grass and trees swaying, birds in the trees, realistic water - now if I could just turn or move....
