i tell you what i think makes more difference and what your best investment for CS just now is:
one of them swanky new x2 optical mice or I saw something with even finer resolution from logitech called the mx or something. i find that by the time i've got my mouse gain cranked up to my comfort level (three full 360 turns with one slight wrist movement) then i don't get smooth tracking (which is why i generally like to run up to people and shoot them point blank in the face) - but when i tried that new x2 mouse from the office the other week it made a serious difference to my ability to do long shots on instinct - given that CS will run quite happily on a 400mhz K6/2 with a voodoo3, the smart upgrade just now is one of these babies for $50
