no but my local super geeks say that for gaming and multimedia, AMD is the way to go and its only gonna get even faster once people start coding for it. If you look at AMD64 vs P4 3.2 then it comes out pretty good.

this and you'll see that for encoding and gaming, the AMD64 comes out on top and that's not even using the 64bits - once people start writing for it (valve already have a AMD64 dedicated server exe which whilst its of little use, shows that they for one are gonna support this development) then it will leave the intels standing. Of course, Intel have had 64 bit processors for sometime now in the form of their hyperthreading P4s and Xeons but if I can buy AMD without feeling like a fool I will and plus, AMD64s run a hell of a lot cooler than their Intel counterparts (maybe I can use that to offset my 6800 ultra
