what are you playing it on? I saw this and decided it isn't worth playing on my poxy (brand new) GFX5200 - they say that you have to turn off a lot of the good stuff to play it on low end cards (apparently my new 5200 with 128MB is low end these days). I checked out the medium detail screenshots though and it looks pretty decent and presumably you still get all the dazzling special effects yes? So, what specs you got and did you have to turn anything off or down apart from opting for "medium"? Seen the trailer last night and it looks way too scary for me - very very impressive though

am still playing it on my radeon, still not updated, but it is still very very good, am playing at 800x600 as well, but the detail, the animations and the general quality of the game is VERY very impressive, and you only have four setting, low medium high and ultra, i guess you want to play it on ultra as do i but am quite happy with it at the moment.... it reminds me of system shock 2, but graphically its light years ahead, and go and get it you dumbass, just because you canna play on ultra it still very good right back to gaming i have got some zombies to kill

Subject: ROFL - of course am gonna get it but was interested what Dex was playing on...

...there's a world of difference between a Radeon 9800XT or 9600XT (which can play it) and a 9200 (which is gonna struggle according to THG) - which is yours?

also, am a little disappointed that the graphics card that i am about to buy for an extortionate amount of money (once it becomes available - one was spotted just north of the canadia-us border) is still not good enough to play on "ultra" although "high" will be very good I'm sure. Dex: what fps are you getting? (think "cl_fps 1" should work as half-life is based on the quake 2 engine by ID) ok I'll shut up now and go buy the game (although am not gonna attempt to play it until I have my new system so there)

you better finish COD before you start a new game young man! if you cannot finish COD how will you cope with DOOM3?

my fucking CO keeps telling me to do dumb shit. I survived the bridge by wiping out the opposition with the heavy machine gun then cowering in the gun tower till reinforcements arrived I'm now at the airfield and I'm doing my job by shooting down the planes but my colleagues can't even get it together to cover my arse while I do this am playing on "hardened" which is probably a mistake but I will finish it grix I promise. Does anyone else find that COD is really jerky for the outdoor scenes at 1024x768 and with everything switched off?

let me know if you want one. I can of course now be reached at the obvious one and you should consider this my permanent email address from now on. I wont be doing a catch all for obvious canned meat purposes.
