hi kix and grix, please may i pick your experienced brains for a minute? i'm having a bit of bother figuring out forms for police and medics- probably just being feeble, but i thought you'd know the answers? 1) the police clearance forms- the one i've got is SA1A central scotland police data protection act- is this the right one or do i have to go through disclosure scotland to get a "police clearance certificate", and do i need to access the uk records, or will scotland be enough? 2) medical forms- i can't seem to find out whether it's ok to get my gp to do it, or whether i have to go to a specially recommended panel quack? am hopelessly excited about getting out there- hoping to be down late sept/early oct, and looking forward to seeing you all again. thanks for this, later, sus

1) For police clearance go to your local copshop and ask for a police clearance cetificate form for emigrating to NZ - on the form request records from Scottish Police and the National Database - it costs £10 You will get two separate letters back - one Scottish, one UK and you need both - can take about 40 days for them to send them back and they are valid for 6 months for NZ immigration. 2) For medicals, if you get them done in the UK you have to go to a specially authorised doc - there is a list here If you get them done in NZ you can go to any doc and its much cheaper. You get the tests from the doc and you will also have to go and get a chest X-ray. Also the doc will send off your blood to have it tested - this can take a couple of weeks to get back. Medicals are valid for only 3 months for NZ immigration. Immigration NZ has all the forms you will need downloadable as pdfs
