Subject: the glory of the olive
prophecy says that the second to last pope will be the glory of the olive. what did benny the 16th say in his acceptance speech just now? that he was just a simple olive grower - are the catholic church yanking us around by deliberately following the prophecies of malachy or what the fuck is going on?
also there is prophecy about the benedictine order taking over the papacy towards the end of days. I don't know if he is from that order but his chosen name seems to indicate that he might be.
anyone got any more info on this?

Recent Popes have been keen to discourage interest in astrology. In the past though, things were differerent. Several techniques of horoscope calculation were originally developed by senior Vatican members and secretly, the church remains as fascinated by prophecy now as it was in the 12th century when an Irish Bishop gave a list of all future popes. He told us we should now expect one known as 'Gloria Olivia'. How amazing is it then, that the new pope is called Benedict and some Benedictine monks are also called Olivetans? Er.. not very. Joseph Ratzinger is fully aware of the old prediction and may well have chosen the name quite deliberately, with all this in mind, in order to give his papacy an additional air of divine, mystical authority.
NB. Pope Benedict is an Aries born April 16 1927. John Paul II was a Taurean born 18 May 1920

Sao Paulo - German Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, considered a high possibility to become the next pope of the Roman Catholic Church, was branded "odious" on Sunday by Brazilian leftist theologist Leonardo Boff, who predicted Ratzinger would never become pope. . . .
"Ratzinger is one of the (Catholic) church's most odious cardinals because of his rigidity, and because he humiliated the bishops' conferences and fellow cardinals in an authoritarian manner on questions of faith," Boff wrote in the newspaper O Estado.
A former priest who was condemned to silence by Pope John Paul II in 1985 for supporting radical liberation theology, Boff said Ratzinger "will never be pope, because it would be excessive, something the intelligence of the cardinals would not permit".
and this...
The favourite to win is Joseph Ratzinger, 78, the late Pope's personal theologian, the massively orthodox heir to the Inquisition and "enforcer of the faith" who has been fighting to rid the church of all the "heretics" let in by the liberalism of the Vatican's Second Council.
