she needs to be able to run excel and excel macros. we tried loading some excel files into open office and while its good for everything I would wanna do, it doesn't cope with VB macros at all so thats open source out the window for this app

you cry and then say fuck it.. and use a old windows2000 disk and leave it as that as everything works and you dont have to spend time trying to work out how to switch of all the new gadgets that bill reckons you need

grix: I have xp pro at home which my pc shop installed for me along with office xp - I update them using windows update with no probs as yet - fingers crossed
